GTTC: berries

The most significant tip I have to share with you this week is: get a surge protector!!! During the last thunderstorm, A very close and very powerful bolt of lightening zapped the electronics in my house leaving the TV partially green, and the computer completely dead. I'm trying not to freak out yet (all the photos! All the documents!) - perhaps someone we know will be able to recover some of the information - and there's a new computer in store for us... But the drawback for this week is that I won't be able to show you the pretty golden-colored anne raspberries and polaris blueberries I picked this week. I made a little fruit salad with one of my favorite fruits - pineapple (that I didn't grow of course!). Drizzled on top was a simple sauce of orange juice and honey. A sweet and flavorful beginning-of-summer treat! Until the new computer arrives, please post your link the the comments below. Have a great week! A new prize will be announced next week! I'm excited about it...

  1. Oh no, that's a horrible feeling when your computer dies. We had a similar thing happen this week - the circuit-breaker for 2 bedrooms was tripped with a very close lightning strike. Everything came back when we reset the breaker, but we had a few anxious moments wondering whether our business computer had been damaged.

Fruit salad sounds simple and delicious! I was just talking to my mother last night about re-growing pineapple tops. My parents got one to form roots and grow leaves, but no new pineapple from it.

No Mr. Linky? I didn't see it, but I've only had one cup of tea so far this morning.

  3. So sorry about your computer, hope you are able to recover your photos and documents...what a drag. As we live on top of a hill this is something we also worry about...even with a surge protector.

  4. I'm so sorry about your computer. Good advice about the surge protector. I delude myself into thinking I have one...but it is so old that I can't image it even works.

My link isn't to "the table" yet, but it is in anticipation of what will come to the table soon.

  6. So sorry to hear that. At my parents, we always unplug every electric appliance at home when it is raining and many lightnings. Even the fridge got hit several times and had to send for repairing.

  8. Huge bummer. I am sorry that happened.
We had lightning a few summers ago take out a lot of equipment at our place. The tree that it hit was blown to smithereens. So glad I wasn't hiking or anything near it, not a spot of rain at the time either.
I am glad you are enjoying your berries! Sounds yummy.

My awesome gardening friends...thanks for leaving a comment! I don't typically repond here, but I love knowing who you are so I can visit your blog as well.

btw - if you're trying to show me nude Miley Cyrus photos, sell me nikes or viagra or antibiotics, or encourage my lovely garden readers to visit your site on solar panel construction, or seo-whatevers, sorry, but I'm not publishing your comment. If you want to moderate my blog - well, I can't keep you too busy, and the pay would be horrible. And lastly, no. I'm not interested in Club Penguin cheat codes. Thanks anyway.
