Scenes from the Low Country

Standing pretty on an island just south of Charleston, SC

The shrimp boat coming in

Uhh, I really thought this was just a silly sand creature running around in circles.  Upon closer inspection, I now know why it was running around in circles.

Scamp on his first family vacation!  My husband wanted this well-loved broken-down old dog to see the beach, so he carried him down the boardwalk, across the sand, and back home.  Click here for Scamp's story.

Southern sweet tea.  Nuff said.

At the Marina the day before Tiger Woods'  25 million dollar yacht sailed in for the PGA Tournament.   The day his yacht came in, so did a funnel cloud (literally).

A most adorable little nephew, wouldn't you say?

There's a cute wall hanging in the house we rent that says, "Don't be crabby, you're on vacation".  Always good to keep in mind!

  2. What great photos. I was just in Savannah, GA last weekend... oh, such great shrimp from the low country!! I have to post my food-truck photos soon. Promise you'll get "shrimp with grits," something completely new to me.

    1. I look forward to shrimp and grits every year! unfortunately, our fave restaurant must have changes chefs, b/c this year, the recipe was completely different - more cream based rather than darker with a bit of andouille sausage. Can you imagine that goodness?

  4. Sounds like a great getaway from reality for awhile. You have some gorgeous shots. And you had me laughing about the bugs. I always think that they just clone themselves:)

  5. Don't be crabby... I LOVE it! What a fun trip and a post that reflects that fun. Your nephew is adorable! I will admit that a literal funnel cloud sounds scary but perhaps the figurative would have been equally unnerving. :) So I take it the photo with you and that other pretty lady is your sister? Bless your hubby for carrying Scamp all that way. :) What a lucky dog. That bug looks ultra-creepy. Love your new banner photo. Glad you had fun in the low country.

  6. Hey...no more of that funky message. So glad you are back.

Hahaha. Had to look closely before I understood the bug love photo.

Your trip looks great and I love that your husband carried Scamp so he could experience the beach. So sweet.

  7. Hi Wendy, i cannot join the linky above as i don't have harvests, so just commented here. I know the story of the dog early on, so good he can already join the family to the beach, how blessed dog! And i love the mix-up photos here, fully telling us the story that day. I wonder if i got the meaning of the 'don't be crabby'! And your daughter is so pretty just like the mother!

My awesome gardening friends...thanks for leaving a comment! I don't typically repond here, but I love knowing who you are so I can visit your blog as well.

btw - if you're trying to show me nude Miley Cyrus photos, sell me nikes or viagra or antibiotics, or encourage my lovely garden readers to visit your site on solar panel construction, or seo-whatevers, sorry, but I'm not publishing your comment. If you want to moderate my blog - well, I can't keep you too busy, and the pay would be horrible. And lastly, no. I'm not interested in Club Penguin cheat codes. Thanks anyway.
