GTTC: summer corn and sun tea

I'm one of those spoiled little darlins whose mom would cut corn off the cob for.  Today, this is still my favorite way of enjoying end-of-summer sweet corn goodness, with plenty of butter and some parsley and thyme from the garden.

Summer is not my favorite season, but one thing I'll miss is a long hot day to brew sun tea.

  1. Ha! You have a good mama! Ok so summer is not my favorite season either which I think is odd sometimes considering how much I love the garden! I just can't take the heat! The corn looks delicious and the tea shot rocks! Off to pull weeds!

  2. I love summer .. but by the end I'm dreaming of a warm fire and snow in the yard (so there's no outside work:) enjoy the corn. I hope you froze some for winter. I think you can make 'sun' tea without the sun .. just put the jug in the fridge overnight (not sure .. just a vague memory)

By the way, do you know how to solve the malware problem?

    2. Now THAT corn tastes just right, I'll bet. Some things are just worth the wait.

  4. Have the fun of a good ear of corn is rolling the cob around in the butter left on your plate and giving it a good suck. Gross, probably...but good.

I've been using corn in so many recipes. Wish I had some cause I'm getting a hankering for pasta with corn and tomatoes.

    Have a great week-end Wendy.

  5. I always cut my corn off the cob. It tastes better to me if I don't have to dig for it with my teeth. I'm not fond of how it gets caught between them. It takes all the fun away.

Hopefully the hot weather is giving way to cooler temperatures. You certainly deserve it after all of the record heat.

My awesome gardening friends...thanks for leaving a comment! I don't typically repond here, but I love knowing who you are so I can visit your blog as well.

btw - if you're trying to show me nude Miley Cyrus photos, sell me nikes or viagra or antibiotics, or encourage my lovely garden readers to visit your site on solar panel construction, or seo-whatevers, sorry, but I'm not publishing your comment. If you want to moderate my blog - well, I can't keep you too busy, and the pay would be horrible. And lastly, no. I'm not interested in Club Penguin cheat codes. Thanks anyway.
